What is Yoga?

Yoga means “Union” or “Oneness”.  Yoga is a practice, a way of life, a journey. 

Yoga leads to the union of body, mind, soul, and spirit and helps to rediscover who we are. 

Yoga is being at one with yourself and at one with the Universe around you.  

In order to achieve this balance & inner peace, we must first learn to quiet our minds. This involves self-observation and becoming self aware in order to find stillness in mind and body. With regular practice of asanas, pranayama and meditation, we can learn to calm the fluctuations of mind, body and senses and in the stillness, ultimately achieve self-realization!

Yoga is not just a form of exercise, but it is a way of life. A regular yoga practice promotes a balanced lifestyle. The more we practice the better we become- physically, mentally and emotionally. Here are just a few things that yoga can help with:

  • Depression, anxiety, stress 

  • Quieting the mind

  • Improving attitude and mode

  • Fitness and stamina

  • Increasing strength

  • Weight loss

  • Insomnia

  • Increasing bone density

  • Improving flexibility and posture

Yoga Classes : In – Person or Virtual

Yoga practice varies depending on the style and level of the class. Each style has a different degree of intensity and challenge. It can be a gentle or intense workout aimed at improving flexibility, strength and peace of mind.

Each session builds core strength, quiets your mind and increases body awareness. Whether you are young or old, athletic or not, experienced or beginner, yoga can work for you! So, come as you are!

All classes are taught in a Vinyasa flow style and are about 60 minutes long.

As always, safety first…

  • Since this is an unsupervised home yoga practice, please be gentle and honor your body.

  • Becoming aware of your body and accepting whatever it allows at the moment is very important.

  • Whenever you are moving through your asana, the most important thing you can do is take care of any sensitive areas. You are better off playing it safe than being sorry.
