Born into an Indian household guided by Hindu philosophies, yoga has always been a part of my life. I came to the U.S. as a teenager in the 1980s and have lived in the Northeast ever since. Over the years, conversations around permanence, detachment, ego, death, and connecting with our true selves have deeply influenced my perspective on life.
For much of my life, I sought mental balance through rigorous physical exercise, but neither gyms nor home workouts provided consistent or sustainable results. In my late 40s, I turned to yoga, embracing asanas, pranayama, and meditation to quiet my mind and reconnect with myself. With regular practice, I’ve found greater peace, improved physical health, and a deeper acceptance of who I am, with all my strengths and limitations. I am rediscovering the basics, learning to appreciate differences, and facing life’s challenges with a calm and peaceful mind.
As a mom of two wonderful teenage daughters, I strive to guide them toward self-love and acceptance, helping them embrace who they are. With a Master’s degree in Education and over a decade of experience teaching in the public school system, I have always found joy in nurturing others. I completed my 200-hour RYT Yoga Teacher Training and Kids Mindfulness and Yoga Teacher Training in 2020 at Yoga Haven under the guidance of Betsy Kase.
Now, I look forward to sharing the transformative power of yoga through my own platform. My goal is to inspire love, kindness, and acceptance, leaving everyone I meet with a sparkle of peace, joy, and harmony.
